Lt. Ewart Theodore Sconiers arrived at the Pensacola, Florida International Airport on January 25, 2018.  His memorial service occured 11:00 a.m., January 27, 2018 at Southwide Baptist Church in his hometown of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Clary-Glenn Funeral Home was entrustsed with oversight for the service and attended to and executed all arrangements with meticulous detail and efficiency, utmost professionalism, responsiveness, patience, genuine/heart-felt caring, and consummate class.  Lt. Sconiers was laid to rest--with full military honors-- next to his mother, Maude Spence Sconiers, in the cemetery of Southwide Baptist Church. The January 27 date was the anniversary of the date he was first buried by fellow POWs in what is now Allies Park in Lubin, Poland. It is also the anniversary of the start of the forced march of POWs from Stalag Luft III, where he had been held captive since October 1942.
