JPAC's first mission to recover 1st Lt. Ewart T. Sconiers began on October 11, 2011, in Allies Park in Lubin, Poland and concluded Friday, October 14. This first, brief mission focused recovery efforts only at the catalpa tree and was unsuccessul in recovering Sconiers. It is anticipated that an expanded and more heavily staffed future mission will focus excavation efforts in the entire quadrant where DPMO determined Sconiers is buried.
